Case IH F-841-12 - CGR – CGR: Receiver Hardware Fault
Issue description
The Failure Mode Indicator (FMI) 12 specifically designates a "bad intelligent device or component," meaning the internal circuitry, memory, or processing hardware within the receiver has experienced a critical internal failure.

Check the cause
Inspect the Vector Pro receiver dome on the cab roof for physical damage, cracks, or signs of water ingress
Power cycle the machine to see if the fault is a transient software glitch
Verify that the receiver is getting clean power and ground from the machine's harness
Check the J1939 CAN bus wiring by measuring the resistance across the datalink backbone (should read approximately 60 ohms, indicating both 120-ohm terminating resistors are intact)
Repair steps
Power down the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.
Access the cab roof and disconnect the main wiring harness from the back of the Vector Pro receiver.
Unlatch the mounting bracket and remove the faulty Vector Pro receiver from the machine.
Install the replacement Vector Pro receiver onto the roof mount and secure the latch.
Reconnect the wiring harness.
Power on the machine. Access the AFS Pro 1200 display to configure the new receiver, input any necessary RTK/correction unlock codes, and verify that the F-841-12 fault has cleared and satellite tracking has resumed.
