Case IH F-95-02 - ECU – ECU: Fuel filter switch is failed / Plugged Fuel Filter Switch
Issue description
The system has detected a fault in the circuit of the fuel filter clog switch, which could mean the switch itself has failed, the wiring harness is damaged, or the fuel filter is severely restricted/blocked.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Magnum series tractors
- Steiger series 4WD tractors
- Axial-Flow Combines
- Sugar Cane Harvesters
Check the cause
Check if the fuel filter is severely restricted or plugged, which can trigger the switch.
Locate the fuel filter switch on the fuel filter housing head, remove the connector, and visually inspect the switch pins and harness connector for corrosion, bent pins, or damage.
Check the continuity of the wiring harness between the ECU connector (pins 78 and 79) and the fuel filter switch connector (pins 1 and 2) to rule out a damaged cable or short circuit.
Repair steps
Replace fuel filter
If the diagnostic checks reveal a blocked filter, remove and replace the fuel filter element.
Repair or replace wiring harness
If the wiring harness fails the continuity test, repair or replace the damaged section of the harness.
Remove old switch
If the wiring has good continuity and the filter is clean, the switch itself has failed. Unscrew and remove the old switch from the fuel filter housing head.
Install new switch
Install the new fuel filter switch into the housing and reconnect the harness.
Clear fault codes
Clear the fault codes from the ECU and run the engine to verify the F-95-02 code does not return.
