F11

Case IH F11 – Transmission Controller: Clutch Potentiometer Voltage Below Valid Range

Issue description

The system is receiving a voltage signal from the clutch pedal position sensor (potentiometer) that falls below the minimum acceptable operational threshold. This condition typically points to an open circuit, a disconnected wiring harness, a short to ground, or a completely failed potentiometer sensor.

Check the cause

  1. Check the clutch pedal potentiometer and its mechanical linkage to ensure it is not sticking, misadjusted, or physically broken.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the clutch potentiometer and the transmission controller for disconnected plugs, open circuits, or wires shorted to ground.

  3. Verify the electrical feed line and battery voltage, as weak connections can trigger low-voltage codes.

Repair steps

  1. Replace the Potentiometer

Disconnect the battery and remove the faulty clutch potentiometer from the clutch pedal assembly. Install the new OEM potentiometer, ensuring proper alignment with the linkage, and reconnect the wiring harness.

  2. Prepare for Calibration

Lower all equipment to the ground, place all shift levers in neutral, and block the front and rear wheels.

  3. Initiate Calibration

Press and hold the High and Low range buttons simultaneously, and start the engine. When 'CAL' appears on the transmission display, release the High and Low range buttons.

  4. Set Engine Speed

Set the engine speed to 1200 ERPM (± 100).

  5. Complete Calibration

Follow the display prompts. Press and hold the range buttons as prompted; 'SOC' will appear during the calibration process. The display will show 'END' to signify that the calibration is complete.
