Case IH F24 – Transmission Control Module (TCM): All Clutches And Synchronizers Require Calibration

None of the transmission clutches are currently calibrated. This condition is typically triggered when a new transmission controller is installed or if the calibration values stored in the processor's non-volatile memory have been corrupted or reset.

   Verify if a new transmission processor/controller was recently installed, as this code is the standard default state for a blank or newly installed controller.

   Check if a technician recently performed an 'H8' reset operation on the controller, which wipes the non-volatile memory and requires reconfiguration.

   If no recent service was performed, suspect that the processor's calibration values have become corrupted.

   Perform transmission clutch calibration

   Perform a complete transmission clutch calibration using either a diagnostic tool (Method 1) or the manual on-board sequence (Method 2).

   Method 1: Use diagnostic tool

   Enter the calibration mode through the white diagnostic connector using the OEM special tool (No. 380000488) and accessing menu mode H1.

   Method 2: Prepare for manual sequence

   With the operator sitting in the seat, depress and hold down the clutch pedal.

   Method 2: Hold upshift switch

   With the ignition key in the OFF position, depress and hold the upshift switch.

   Method 2: Start engine and downshift

   Start the engine, and within 2 seconds, depress and release the downshift switch.

   Method 2: Follow on-screen prompts

   Release the switches and follow the on-screen instrument cluster prompts to cycle through and calibrate the clutches and synchronizers.

   Verify calibration or replace ECU

   If the calibration is successful, the F24 code will clear. If the system is unable to maintain the calibration, or if the calibration values immediately corrupt again, the transmission processor (ECU) has suffered a hardware failure and must be replaced.
