Case IH F61 – Transmission Controller / Processor: Upshift Switch Input Voltage High
Issue description
The controller is detecting that the voltage signal from the upshift switch is higher than the expected normal operating range. The upshift switch will not function, meaning the operator will be unable to select higher gears.

Check the cause
Key off the tractor and restart the engine to see if default gears (B1/R1) can be selected.
Disconnect the transmission processor connectors (C100 and C101).
Disconnect connector C103 at the upshift/downshift/range shift assembly.
Using a multimeter, check the continuity and voltage on the circuit between processor pin 100-32 and the switch connector C103-CM7210-S/LG/B.
Test the circuit specifically for an open circuit, faulty wiring, or a short to earth (ground).
Repair steps
Trace and Repair Wiring
Based on the multimeter results, trace the wiring harness between the transmission processor and the shift assembly. Repair any broken wires, chafing, or corroded pins at connectors C100, C101, or C103.
Replace the Switch
If the wiring harness tests perfectly (no open circuits or shorts to ground), the fault lies internally within the upshift switch mechanism itself. Replace the upshift/downshift/range shift assembly.
Perform Transmission Calibration
If a potentiometer, PWM solenoid, or the microprocessor is replaced—or if a mechanical repair is effected—you must perform a Transmission/EDC Calibration setup procedure to clear the codes and relearn the clutch/shift parameters.
