Case IH F90 – Central Controller (XCM): Central Controller (XCM) Not Present or generated by the EST

The tractor's network has lost CAN bus communication with the Central Controller, or the code was artificially generated by a technician using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) during a diagnostic test.

   Verify if the code was generated by the Electronic Service Tool (EST) during a recent service appointment.

   Check the battery voltage, as low voltage can cause modules to drop offline or clutches to fail to operate.

   Inspect the main wiring harnesses and connectors leading to the Central Controller (XCM) for corrosion, backed-out pins, or broken wires that would interrupt CAN communication.

   Turn off power

   Turn the keystart to the OFF position.

   Disconnect harnesses

   Locate the Central Controller (XCM) and disconnect its main harnesses.

   Inspect and clean connectors

   Inspect and clean the connectors. Repair any damaged wiring on the CAN bus lines or power/ground circuits.

   Test connection

   Reconnect the module and turn the key ON to see if the F90 code clears.

   Replace Central Controller

   If the fault re-occurs and all wiring tests good, the Central Controller (XCM) has failed internally. Remove and replace the Central Controller (XCM).

   Perform calibration

   When a new controller is installed on the tractor, none of the transmission clutches will be calibrated. You must perform a complete electronic calibration and configuration using the H-Menu guide.
