Case IH FCO – Secondary Controller (CFPS): Secondary Controller (CFPS) Is Not Configured

None of the transmission clutches are calibrated. This fault is triggered when the software configuration is lost, or it is the default condition when a brand-new controller is installed on the tractor. When this code is active, the transmission is disabled and will default to neutral.

   Verify Drive State: Confirm that the transmission is disabled. Depressing the clutch pedal or shifting to neutral is required to re-enable the transmission interface.

   Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for subsequent clutch calibration codes (e.g., FC1 for Medium Range, FC2 for High Range, FC3 for Reverse, FCA-FCE for individual clutches) which confirm that the clutches simply need to be relearned.

   Verify Software: If code FC9 is also present, it indicates a deeper configuration error requiring the latest software to be downloaded via an Electronic Service Tool before calibration can begin.

   Park the tractor on level ground away from obstacles.

   Lower all attached equipment to the ground.

   Place all shift levers in neutral and securely block the front and rear wheels.

   Depress the clutch pedal.

   Press and hold the High and Low range buttons simultaneously, then start the engine.

   Wait for 'CAL' to appear on the transmission display, then release the High and Low range buttons.

   Set the engine speed to exactly 1200 ERPM.

   Follow the on-screen prompts to cycle through the clutch packs.

   The transmission is now ready for calibration.

   If the controller has failed entirely and will not accept a configuration or calibration, physically replace the Secondary Controller (CFPS), flash with the latest software, and then calibrate using the steps above.
