Case IH L07 – Front Suspended Axle Controller (GCM1 or XCM module): Front Axle Weight Has Been Reduced But The Suspension Is Unable To Reset Nominal Height
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the front axle suspension system has detected a decrease in weight (load) on the front axle, but the hydraulic suspension system is failing to adjust and return the axle to its calibrated nominal ride height.

Check the cause
Check the front suspension hydraulic components, including hoses, fittings, and cylinders, for any leaks, damage, or mechanical binding that would prevent the suspension from moving freely.
Check the fuses providing power to the front suspension controller. Look specifically for blown fuses on the 12VM, 12VF1, and 12VF3 circuits, which supply voltage to the suspension system.
Verify the readings of the front axle potentiometer (position sensor). If the sensor is out of range, it will prevent the system from knowing its true height.
Test the lockout valve solenoids (raising and lowering solenoids). If a solenoid is stuck or has an open/short circuit, the hydraulic fluid cannot route properly to adjust the height.
Repair steps
Resolve Mechanical/Hydraulic Binding
If physical damage or severe leaks are found during the diagnostic check, repair or replace the affected hydraulic cylinders or lines.
Test and Replace the Potentiometer
Disconnect the front axle potentiometer with the key switch in the "ON" position, then reconnect it to see if the signal normalizes. If the sensor has failed or has a dead spot, replace it.
Test and Replace Solenoid Valves
If the controller is sending voltage to the lockout valve lowering/raising solenoids but the suspension does not move, replace the faulty PWM solenoid valve on the suspension manifold.
Perform Auto-Calibration
Whenever a mechanical repair is performed, a PWM solenoid valve is replaced, or the front axle potentiometer is replaced, you must perform the Front Suspension Auto-Calibration procedure via the tractor's H-Menu (Configuration & Calibration mode). The system must relearn its minimum and maximum travel limits to establish the new nominal height.
