Issue description

Check the cause

  1. Verify that the operator is fully depressing the clutch pedal before moving the shuttle or range lever out of neutral.

  2. If the correct sequence is followed but the code remains, check the Shuttle Lever Neutral Switch and the Clutch Pedal Switch/Potentiometer for physical damage, sticking, or wiring faults (short to ground or open circuit).

Repair steps

  1. Depress clutch

    Fully depress the clutch pedal.

  2. Shift to neutral

Move the shuttle lever (or range selector lever) back to the Neutral position.

  3. Verify code clears

Verify that the 'N' error code disappears from the gearbox display and the audible alarm stops.

  4. Re-engage drive

    Re-engage the drive normally.

  5. Test and replace switches if code persists

If the code does not clear: Use a multimeter or dealer diagnostic tool to test the shuttle lever switches and clutch pedal potentiometer. If the shuttle lever is physically in neutral but the switch reads as 'Forward' or 'Reverse', replace the faulty shuttle switch.
