Case IH R1 – XCM (Central Controller / Electronic Hydraulic Remote Controller) or ACM (Armrest Controller Module): EHR Control Unit 1 Lever Not Calibrated
Issue description
The system's controller has lost the calibration values for the Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) lever #1, or a new lever/controller has been installed. Because it is not calibrated, the system does not know the physical limits (raise, lower, neutral, float) of the lever's travel, and the remote valve will be disabled for safety.

Check the cause
Determine if the EHR lever, the controller, or a potentiometer was recently replaced, or if the non-volatile memory was reset (which naturally triggers this code).
Inspect the EHR #1 lever for physical damage, binding, or debris obstructing its full range of motion.
Enter the tractor's 'H-Menu' (diagnostic mode) and navigate to the H5 menu to perform a switch test. Verify that the controller is actually reading the lever's potentiometer sweeps and switch inputs.
Inspect the wiring harness from the armrest controls to the XCM/ACM controller for shorts, open circuits, or loose pins.
Repair steps
Enter diagnostic mode
Start the engine and enter the tractor's diagnostic/calibration mode (H-Menu) on the Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC).
Navigate to H1 menu
Navigate to the H1 calibration menu.
Select R1
Press the CRPM button on the B-pillar/dashboard until R1 (EHR lever one) is displayed on the EIC. The display will then show 'AA'.
Activate lever
Depress the 'increase' side of the CRPM switch to activate the lever. (If not pressed quickly enough, it will default to '0' and you must cycle back).
Move lever through full range
Move the EHR #1 lever through its full range of motion as prompted. This typically involves turning the flow control to max flow and pulling the lever fully into the raise detent position.
Wait for completion
Wait for the display to signify completion (it will often display 'END' or move to the next step).
Store calibration values
Turn the Key OFF to store the new calibration values in the controller's non-volatile memory.
Post-Calibration troubleshooting
If the calibration fails repeatedly or the code immediately returns, the EHR lever potentiometer is likely faulty and the lever block must be replaced. If the lever is replaced and it still fails, the controller software may need to be reloaded by a dealer using the Electronic Service Tool (EST).
