Issue description
This indicates a mechanical or electro-mechanical failure within the #2 Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) valve. The internal spool is either failing to move to its commanded position (short travel), moving past its intended limit (excessive travel), or failing to return to the neutral/open center position when deactivated. This is typically caused by mechanical binding (debris or scoring), a failed internal position transducer, or a faulty output stage in the valve.

Check the cause
Check the #2 remote valve slice at the rear of the tractor for physical damage, severe leaks, or external debris that could cause mechanical binding.
Disconnect the electrical harness at EHR Valve 2 and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or damage. Verify that the valve is receiving proper supply voltage.
Ensure the CAN bus wiring between the EHR Valve 2 and the Central Controller (XCM) is intact.
Enter the tractor's 'H-Menu' (diagnostic and calibration menu) and attempt to recalibrate the EHR valves to see if the spool has simply lost its learned parameters.
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and relieve all hydraulic pressure by cycling the remote levers/switches.
Access the Valve Stack
Locate the rear remote valve stack. Clean the exterior of the valve block thoroughly to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.
Disconnect Electronics
Unplug the electrical connector from the #2 EHR valve slice.
Remove the Valve Slice
Remove the tie bolts that hold the remote valve stack together. Carefully separate the stack and extract the #2 EHR valve slice (spool valve block).
Inspect / Replace
Because the position transducer and internal electronics of these EHR valves are often non-serviceable or sealed, a failure of the spool to reach the open center usually requires replacing the entire valve slice. (If attempting a rebuild, inspect the spool for scoring or debris causing it to stick).
Reassembly
Install the new EHR valve slice. Crucial step: Always install new O-rings between the valve sections to prevent internal cross-leaks.
Torque
Re-torque the valve stack tie bolts to the OEM specification found in the service manual.
Recalibration
Reconnect the electrical harness, start the tractor, and check for leaks. You must perform the EHR valve calibration procedure via the H-Menu so the Central Controller (XCM) can learn the travel limits of the new spool valve.
