Case IH t3D – Transmission Control Module (TCU) or Central Controller (XCM): Solenoid Valve, Data Incorrect

This code indicates that the controller is receiving implausible, invalid, or incorrect electrical feedback/data from a transmission or PTO solenoid valve circuit.

   Turn the keyswitch OFF and disconnect the battery or pull the relevant fuse to prevent false multimeter readings

   Disconnect the affected solenoid connectors and inspect the harness outer covering, connector pins, and wiring for corrosion, backed-out pins, or physical damage

   Set a multimeter to measure resistance (Ohms) and measure the circuit resistance across the solenoid coil with the circuit open

   Check for a short to ground by touching the black multimeter lead to a clean, uncorroded chassis ground and the red lead to the connector pins one at a time

   Locate faulty solenoid

   Locate the faulty PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) solenoid valve on the transmission or PTO valve block.

   Disconnect harness

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the solenoid.

   Remove solenoid

   Remove the retaining hardware and extract the faulty solenoid valve.

   Install new solenoid

   Install the new replacement solenoid valve and secure the retaining hardware.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Perform calibration

   Perform a mandatory Transmission/EDC Calibration: Block the wheels, place shift levers in neutral, and lower all equipment to the ground. Hold the High and Low range buttons and start the engine. Release the buttons when 'CAL' appears on the transmission display. Set the engine speed to 1200 RPM and follow the automated clutch calibration sequence until 'END' is displayed.
