Case IH t7D – PCU (Pump Control Unit): EEPROM In PCU, Data Valid But Above Normal Range

Indicates that the Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) inside the Pump Control Unit has encountered a data validation error. The control module is able to read the data (it is valid), but the values fall outside the expected or normal operating parameters. This is typically caused by internal memory corruption or a hardware failure within the module itself.

   Verify battery voltage and inspect the ground connections to the injection pump PCU (low voltage or severe voltage spikes can cause temporary EEPROM data errors)

   Inspect the main wiring harness and connectors at the injection pump for corrosion, moisture, or damaged pins

   Clear the fault codes and cycle the key. If the t7D code returns immediately, it is a hard fault indicating permanent internal PCU damage

   Disconnect the tractor's battery.

   Ensure the battery is disconnected before beginning work on the injection pump.

   Disconnect the main wiring harness from the injection pump PCU.

   Carefully unplug the harness from the Pump Control Unit.

   Remove the entire fuel injection pump assembly.

   Because the PCU is integrated into the injection pump, the standard repair procedure is to remove the entire assembly.

   Repair or replace the injection pump.

   You have two options: Replace the entire injection pump with a new or remanufactured unit, or send the existing injection pump to an authorized Bosch diesel repair facility to have the PCU module rebuilt and reprogrammed.

   Install the new/rebuilt injection pump.

   Install the unit according to the OEM service manual timing procedures.

   Bleed the fuel system.

   Ensure all air is removed from the fuel system after installation.

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and clear any stored fault codes.

   Restore power and clear the codes to verify the repair.
