Check the cause
Visually inspect the fuel temperature sensor on the fuel injection pump, its 2-pin electrical connector, and the wiring harness for chafing, corrosion, or loose connections.
Perform a wiring continuity test between the sensor connector and the ECM, ensuring wires are not shorted to ground or to each other.
Test sensor resistance using a multimeter; resistance should change smoothly as the engine warms up. An open circuit or dead short indicates internal failure.
Repair steps
Preparation
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Locate the Sensor
Find the fuel temperature sensor mounted on the fuel injection pump housing.
Disconnect Wiring
Unplug the 2-pin electrical connector from the sensor.
Remove the Sensor
Using an appropriately sized wrench, unscrew the sensor from the fuel injection pump. Have a shop rag ready, as a small amount of diesel fuel may leak from the port.
Install the New Sensor
Clean the threads on the injection pump housing. Thread the new sensor (M14 x 1.50 metric thread) into the port and tighten it securely.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical connector back into the new sensor, ensuring it clicks into place.
Test
Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and clear the stored fault codes via the tractor's H-Menu or diagnostic tool. Start the engine and inspect the sensor area for any fuel leaks.
