Case IH U107 – Transmission Control Module: Clutch not working

A calibration-specific 'U' error code indicating that the system is unable to properly read or operate the clutch during the calibration process. It is triggered when the controller is attempting to calibrate the transmission clutches.

   Monitor Live Data: Access the tractor's diagnostic menu via the universal controller. Check the displayed clutch potentiometer reading while manually actuating the pedal to see if the voltage sweeps smoothly or drops out.

   Inspect Wiring: Check the wiring harness and connectors leading to the clutch pedal potentiometer for open circuits, shorts to ground, or corrosion.

   Inspect the Sensor: Check the clutch potentiometer and its physical linkage (installed beside the clutch pedal) to ensure it is not physically stuck, loose, or broken.

   Mechanical Driveline Check: If the electrical circuit and sensor are functioning perfectly, check for a mechanical failure inside the transmission preventing the clutch from engaging/disengaging as commanded.

   Resolve Electrical/Sensor Faults

   Repair any damaged wiring in the clutch potentiometer circuit. If the potentiometer is sticking or returning out-of-range values, replace the sensor.

   Clear Stored Codes

   Access the universal controller's diagnostic menu (often utilizing the 'dimming' button to reach the 'EECL' screen) to clear stored fault codes and EEPROM data before attempting recalibration.

   Recalibrate Transmission

   Bring the transmission fluid up to operating temperature (typically between 10°C and 130°C depending on the clutch) and re-run the transmission calibration procedure. The controller will relearn the clutch engagement mA values.

   Address Mechanical Issues

   If the code persists and electrical faults are ruled out, the transmission will require mechanical teardown to inspect the clutch packs, PWM valves, and driveline components.
