Case IH U122 – Electronic Draft Control (EDC) Module / Front Suspension Control Module / Full Power Shift Transmission (FPS) Controller: Inclinometer offset out of range
Issue description
This is a calibration error indicating that the electronic control system is receiving a baseline reading from the inclinometer (tilt/level sensor) that falls outside the acceptable parameters. Because the sensor's baseline is skewed, the system cannot establish a true "zero" or level reference, which prevents the successful completion of calibration routines.

Check the cause
Check the Ground: Ensure the vehicle is parked on completely flat, level ground (preferably a concrete shop floor).
Check for Attachments: Remove any rear attachments or heavy implements. The weight of an implement can alter the tractor's stance and throw off the inclinometer reading.
Check the Wheels/Tires: Verify that the correct set of wheels is installed and that tire pressures are even. Incorrect tire sizes or mismatched inflation will physically tilt the tractor.
Review Sensor Installation: Inspect the physical installation of the inclinometer sensor. Ensure the mounting bracket is not bent, loose, or installed backward.
Repair steps
Relocate the Tractor
Move the tractor to a verified flat and level surface.
Strip the Machine
Detach all rear implements and attachments.
Verify Stance
Check tire sizes and pressures to ensure the chassis is sitting perfectly level.
Inspect the Sensor
Locate the inclinometer sensor on the chassis. Inspect its mounting hardware. Tighten or adjust the installation if it is loose or crooked.
Check Wiring
Inspect the 3-wire polyurethane conductor cable and connector going to the inclinometer for any damage, corrosion, or loose pins (it operates on a 5-Volt reference).
Re-Calibrate
Re-run the calibration procedure (e.g., EDC, Suspension, or Transmission calibration) via the tractor's display or H-menu diagnostics.
Replace Sensor
If the tractor is perfectly level, the wiring is intact, and the calibration still fails with code U122, the inclinometer sensor has failed internally and must be replaced.
