Case IH u152 – Transmission Control Module: Uncalibrated Valve: The pilot head has not been calibrated previously.

The transmission's electronic management system lacks valid calibration data for the pilot head valve. This typically appears if a new control module has been installed, if the pilot head was recently replaced, or if the previous calibration memory was intentionally erased.

   Verify module history to determine if the transmission control module was recently replaced or if a factory reset/memory wipe was performed

   Inspect the wiring harness connections to the pilot head valve

   Ensure the pressure transducer is properly connected to the test point and functioning correctly

   Check mechanically to ensure the valve is not physically stuck

   Prepare the Tractor

   Park the tractor on a flat, level surface away from any obstacles. Firmly apply the parking brake and block the front and rear wheels to prevent inadvertent movement.

   System Prerequisites

   Ensure the engine is running at the correct temperature and the ground speed display reads exactly zero.

   Initiate Calibration

   Enter the transmission calibration mode via the tractor's electronic management system/instrument cluster.

   Run the Procedure

   Follow the on-screen prompts (e.g., when the display shows 'dt', press and hold the downshift button to calibrate the sensors/valves until the display alternates to the calibration value).

   Part Replacement (If Calibration Fails)

   If the calibration times out (Code U156: 'The waiting time for the pilot head has expired') or fails to complete, the pilot head valve assembly has likely failed internally and must be replaced. After installing the new pilot head, repeat steps 1-4 to calibrate the new part.
