Case IH u158 – EHR (Electronic Hydraulic Remote) Control Module: Valve calibration procedure terminated prematurely

The calibration sequence for the Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) valves was interrupted because the operator pressed the 'h' (hours) or 'm' (minutes) buttons on the instrument cluster or armrest.

   Confirm with the operator if they were attempting to navigate menus or adjust the display while a remote valve calibration was actively running

   Inspect the 'h' and 'm' (menu up/down) buttons on the instrument cluster and armrest to ensure they are not physically sticking, jammed by debris, or shorting out

   Ensure the tractor's hydraulic fluid is up to normal operating temperature, as cold oil can delay calibration and tempt operators to exit the screen

   Clear fault code

   Turn the key ON and clear the U158 fault code from the EHR module memory.

   Warm up hydraulics

   Start the tractor and operate the hydraulics until the fluid reaches normal operating temperature.

   Restart calibration

   Re-enter the calibration menu and restart the Rear Electronic Hydraulic Remote Valve Calibration procedure.

   Actuate valves

   Follow the on-screen prompts to actuate the valves.

   Avoid buttons

   Keep your hands completely away from the 'h' and 'm' (menu up/down) buttons while the calibration is actively running.

   Complete checks

   Allow the system to complete its spool movement and pressure checks.

   Save calibration

   Once the display indicates the calibration is successful, turn the key switch OFF for at least 30 seconds to save the new calibration values to the module's memory.
