CLAAS Id7505h / 7505h – MFA (A100) - Multifunction Armrest Module: Signal voltage specified with the Drivestick too low

Issue description

The electrical signal coming from the Drivestick (the transmission control lever) has dropped below the minimum acceptable voltage threshold, suggesting an open circuit, a short to ground, or a failed potentiometer/sensor within the Drivestick itself. Symptoms include the multifunction armrest becoming inactive, the current gear being maintained, and the transmission defaulting to a degraded mode (only gears C1 and B1 available) after restarting.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the physical condition of the Drivestick (R74) lever and its internal sensors.

  2. Verify that the MFA (A100) Armrest Multifunction Module is receiving power and communicating properly on the CAN bus.

  3. Thoroughly inspect the wiring harness between the Drivestick (R74) and the MFA (A100) module for chafing, pinched wires, or a short to ground.

  4. Check the connector pins for corrosion or poor tension.

Repair steps

  1. Read All Codes

    Connect the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) to check for accompanying CAN bus or MFA errors (such as Id7504h - voltage too high, or communication loss codes).

  2. Inspect Harness

    Disconnect the Drivestick (R74) and the MFA (A100) module. Use a multimeter to check the signal wire for continuity and ensure it is not shorted to ground.

  3. Test the Drivestick

    Supply reference voltage to the Drivestick and sweep the lever while monitoring the signal output. If the voltage drops out or remains below the specified threshold, the Drivestick has failed internally.

  4. Replace Component

    If the wiring is intact but the signal is faulty, replace the Drivestick (R74). If the Drivestick tests perfectly, the fault lies within the MFA (A100) module's internal circuitry.

  5. Clear Codes and Calibrate

    After replacing the Drivestick or MFA module, clear the fault codes. A transmission/armrest calibration may be required via the CDS tool to ensure the new Drivestick's proportional limits are learned by the system.
