   Disassemble the necessary trim on the multifunction armrest to access the hand accelerator potentiometer (R72).

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the potentiometer for chafing, pinched wires, or exposed copper. Disconnect the connector and check for bent pins, corrosion, or moisture.

   Electrical Testing

   Using a multimeter, test the supply voltage and ground at the potentiometer connector. Then, test the signal wire back to the MFA (A100) module for a short to voltage.

   Measure the resistance sweep of the R72 potentiometer while moving the hand throttle. If the resistance is out of specification, jumps erratically, or shows an internal short, the potentiometer is faulty.
