Issue description
The system is receiving a voltage reading from the lifting position instruction knob (potentiometer) that exceeds the maximum expected threshold. This typically indicates a short circuit to power, a disconnected ground, or an internally shorted potentiometer. As a safety response, the system locks the internal lifting functions, though external controls will remain operational.

Check the cause
Verify System Response: Confirm that the internal lifting controls are locked but the external lifting controls (fender buttons) still function.
Check Component R77: Inspect the lifting position instruction potentiometer (Component ID: R77) located on the armrest.
Check Component A100: Inspect the MFA (A100) armrest multifunction module and its connections.
Wiring Inspection: Check the wiring harness between the R77 potentiometer and the A100 MFA module for shorts to power or broken ground wires.

Safety & Prep
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and ensure the implement/linkage is safely lowered to the ground.
Access the Armrest
Carefully disassemble the top panels of the multifunction armrest to access the internal components and wiring.
Inspect Wiring & Connectors
Locate the lifting position instruction potentiometer (R77). Disconnect its harness and inspect the pins for corrosion, bent terminals, or moisture.
Test the Potentiometer (R77)
Using a multimeter, check the voltage output of the potentiometer while the tractor is keyed on. If the signal voltage is pegged high (e.g., 5V) and does not change smoothly as you turn the knob, the potentiometer is internally shorted and must be replaced.
Test the Harness
If the potentiometer tests fine, check the signal wire running back to the MFA (A100) module for a short to a 12V or 5V power source. Repair any chafed or melted wires.
Module Verification
If the wiring is intact and the potentiometer is functioning correctly, the fault lies within the MFA (A100) armrest multifunction module itself (e.g., a burnt internal trace or logic failure).
Reassembly & Clearing Codes
Replace the faulty component, reassemble the armrest, and use the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) to clear the fault code. Test the lifting position knob to ensure full functionality is restored.
