CLAAS Id7555h / 7555h – MFA (A100) - Multifunction Armrest Module: Error on CLAAS vehicle CAN bus.
Issue description
The system has detected a communication failure or frame error on the main vehicle CAN bus network. This fault results in the random or erratic operation of the multifunction armrest.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- CLAAS Axion 800 Series (e.g., 810, 850)
- CLAAS Axion 900 Series (e.g., 920, 950)
- CLAAS Arion 500 / 600 Series (e.g., 510, 520, 530, 540, 610, 620, 630, 640)
- CLAAS Arion 400 Series
Check the cause
Check the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network for short-circuits, open circuits, or damaged wiring.
Verify the CAN bus network communication module BDG (A103) is transmitting messages properly.
Verify the instrument panel module DBD (A101) connection to the CAN network.
Check all related fuses, power supply voltages, and ground connections for the A100, A101, and A103 modules.
Check the compatibility of the program versions and settings using the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS).
Repair steps
Visual Inspection
Inspect the wiring harnesses connecting the MFA (A100) armrest, the DBD (A101) dashboard, and the BDG (A103) communication module. Look for chafed wires, loose connector pins, or corrosion.
Electrical Testing
Use a multimeter to test the CAN High and CAN Low lines on the vehicle CAN bus for continuity. Verify there are no shorts to ground or shorts to power.
Power & Ground Verification
Test the power supply and ground circuits at the connectors for the MFA, DBD, and BDG modules under load.
Software Check
Connect the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS). Verify that the software versions of the MFA, DBD, and BDG modules are up to date and compatible. Reflash or recalibrate if necessary.
Component Replacement
If the wiring, power, grounds, and software are all verified to be in good working order, the fault lies within the hardware of one of the modules on the bus. Replace the faulty component (typically starting with the MFA A100 module if the physical armrest is acting erratically, or the BDG/DBD if network-wide communication is down).
Parts you might need
(3)MFA (A100) - Multifunction Armrest Module
Exact OEM part numbers vary heavily based on the specific tractor configuration (e.g., Hexashift vs. CMATIC, CEBIS vs. CIS). You will need the machine's serial number to order the exact match.
BDG (A103) - CAN Bus Network Communication Module
Exact OEM part numbers vary heavily based on the specific tractor configuration (e.g., Hexashift vs. CMATIC, CEBIS vs. CIS). You will need the machine's serial number to order the exact match.
DBD (A101) - Instrument Panel / Dashboard Module
Exact OEM part numbers vary heavily based on the specific tractor configuration (e.g., Hexashift vs. CMATIC, CEBIS vs. CIS). You will need the machine's serial number to order the exact match.
