CLAAS Id7583h / 7583h (903) – SFA (A102): Cab suspension failure. No message from the left-hand shock absorber 5 seconds after starting.

When this code is triggered, the maximum tractor speed is restricted to 15 km/h, the active damping system defaults to 'Hard mode', and the system can no longer manage or adjust the cab's position.

   Inspect the module of the rear left jack of the cab suspension (Component ID: A138)

   Verify the integrity of the 'Z-Activ CAN bus' network which handles communication for the active suspension

   Check the connectors and continuity of the harnesses linking the left shock absorber to the SFA module

   Test for any short-circuits or open circuits in the wiring

   Check the sources of energy, including fuses, power supply voltage, and ground connections to the left shock absorber module

   Initial Assessment

   Note the error code and confirm the symptoms (speed limited to 15 km/h, stiff cab ride).

   Visual Inspection

   Locate the rear left cab suspension jack (A138). Inspect the physical condition of the shock absorber, its electrical connector, and the wiring harness leading back to the cab.

   Electrical Testing

   Using a multimeter, test the power, ground, and Z-Activ CAN bus lines at the A138 connector for continuity and proper voltage.

   Component Replacement

   If the wiring, power, and CAN bus communication lines are intact but the left shock absorber still fails to broadcast a message within 5 seconds of startup, the internal sensor/module of the rear left shock absorber (A138) has failed and the unit must be replaced.

   Calibration & Clearing

   After replacing the component, check if compatibility settings or calibrations are required via the CLAAS diagnostic tool. Clear the error codes from the SFA (A102) module.

   Test Drive

   Restart the tractor and verify that the cab position manages correctly and the 15 km/h speed restriction is lifted.
