CLAAS Id75CCh / 75CCh (313) – TR1 (A57-1) Transmission Module: Loss of shuttle reverser output speed information

Issue description

The transmission control module detects that the tractor is in motion (a theoretical speed greater than 0 km/h is being indicated by the theoretical forward speed sensor or wheel speed sensors), but it is receiving no speed signal (or an erratic signal) from the shuttle reverser output sensor. This triggers an audible alarm, though an "ISC" reset is not requested.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 800 series
  • Axion 810 Stage V
  • Axion 850
  • Arion 400 series
  • Arion 500 series
  • Arion 600 series
  • Arion 410
  • Arion 430
  • Arion 510
  • Arion 530
  • Arion 550
  • Arion 610
  • Arion 620
  • Arion 640
  • Arion 650
  • Axos series
  • Axos 310-340

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the reverser exit speed sensor (B229) under torque for an erratic signal (FMI 2).

  2. Check the wiring harness and connectors between the B229 sensor and the TR1 (A57-1) transmission module for corrosion, moisture, or breaks.

  3. Inspect for a possible seizure of the forward/reverse or Hexashift solenoid valves (PSV1, PSV2, PSV3).

  4. Check for a possible mechanical problem on the forward/reverse or Hexashift clutches, specifically looking for mechanical slippage.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Safely park the tractor on level ground, turn off the engine, engage the parking brake, and turn on the master battery switch to allow for electrical testing if needed.

  2. Locate the sensor

Locate the B229 gearbox speed intermediate sensor on the transmission housing (reverser exit).

  3. Electrical testing

Disconnect the sensor plug and test the circuit back to the TR1 (A57-1) module. The module supplies a 10V reference voltage for sensors. Ensure the wiring is intact.

  4. Sensor replacement

If the wiring is good but the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) shows no Hz reading or an erratic signal from B229 while moving, the sensor has failed. Remove the retaining bolt, extract the old sensor, and install the new one.

  5. Valve inspection

If the sensor is functioning properly, remove and inspect the Hexashift solenoid valves (PSV1, PSV2, PSV3) for sticking or seizure. Clean or replace as necessary.

  6. Clear codes and test

Reconnect all components, clear the fault memory using the CLAAS Diagnostic System, and test drive the tractor to ensure the shuttle reverser output speed is accurately registering and the fault does not return.
