CLAAS Id75CFh / 75CFh (316) – TR1 (A57-1): Clutch Pedal Position Potentiometer Sensor Voltage Out of Range

The voltage of the signal provided by the clutch pedal position potentiometer sensor (Component R73) is outside the acceptable operating range (< 0.3 V or > 4.8 V).

   Check the mechanical assembly of the clutch pedal and verify that the coupling of the sensor with the pedal has absolutely no play.

   Switch on the ignition and use a voltmeter to measure the voltage between pins 4 and 12 on connector A4/4.

   If the sampled voltage value exceeds 4.9V (regardless of the position of the clutch pedal), check the wiring harness for a short-circuit to power.

   Verify if the VDC has an internal fault.

   Eliminate Mechanical Play

   If play is found during the mechanical inspection, tighten or repair the mechanical assembly coupling the sensor to the clutch pedal.

   Repair Wiring

   If a short-circuit to power is discovered during the voltage test, repair the damaged section of the wiring harness.

   Adjust/Replace Sensor

   If the wiring is intact and mechanical play is eliminated but the voltage remains out of bounds, adjust the setting of the clutch pedal sensor. If it cannot be adjusted into the 0.3V – 4.8V range, replace the sensor.

   System Reset

   Once the repair is complete, the system requires an "ISC" reset to clear the fault state and recalibrate.
