CLAAS Id75D2h / 75D2h (319) – TR1 (A57-1): Inconsistency between the information from the crawler range engaging contact and the mechanical status of the crawler range

Issue description

The tractor's computer is detecting a mismatch: the electrical sensor (contact switch) is reporting one state for the crawler gear (e.g., engaged or disengaged), but the actual mechanical status or speed data indicates the opposite.

Applies to these machines

  • Axion 810
  • Axion 850
  • Arion 410
  • Arion 420
  • Arion 430
  • Arion 510
  • Arion 640

Check the cause

  1. Check the theoretical speed sensor (B227)

  2. Check the slow range contact / crawl range engaged switch (Z150)

  3. Verify the mechanical status of the crawler range

  4. Verify the status of the range module

  5. Check the 'Auto 5' electronic module using tool/part number 60 05 033 249

Repair steps

  1. Inspect Wiring

Visually inspect the wiring harnesses and connectors going to the slow range contact (Z150) and the theoretical speed sensor (B227). Look for shorts, breaks, or corrosion.

  2. Test the Slow Range Contact (Z150)

Use a multimeter to verify that the Z150 contact switch correctly opens and closes when the crawler range is physically engaged and disengaged. If the switch is sticking or providing erratic signals, replace it.

  3. Test the Speed Sensor (B227)

Check the theoretical forward speed sensor (B227) for proper Hz signal output during operation. If the sensor is dead or erratic, replace it.

  4. Mechanical Inspection

Inspect the mechanical linkage and internal status of the crawler range module. Ensure that the gears are physically shifting into the crawler range without binding or mechanical failure.

  5. Module Testing/Replacement

If the sensors and mechanical components are functioning correctly, the fault likely lies within the "Auto 5" control unit. Use the specified CLAAS diagnostic tool/procedure to test the module. If it fails the test, the "Auto 5" module must be replaced.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • "Auto 5" Electronic Module / Diagnostic Unit
