CLAAS Id75D4h / 75D4h (321) – TR1 (A57-1) module: The information provided by the reverser lever is inconsistent (several states simultaneously)

The reverser lever (Revershift lever or shuttle lever) is sending conflicting electrical signals to the control unit, such as indicating 'Forward' and 'Neutral' or 'Forward' and 'Reverse' at the exact same time.

   Check the Reverser Lever (Component S171) physical lever and internal contacts for mechanical failure or sticking

   Inspect the wiring harness and connections leading from the reverser lever to the TR1 module for a 12V short circuit or open circuit

   Test the 'Auto 5' transmission module using the official CLAAS diagnostic tool (Tool n° 60 05 033 249)

   Safety & Prep

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake (Park Lock), and turn off the ignition.

   Harness Testing

   Access the wiring harness connected to the reverser lever (S171) on the steering column. Use a multimeter to test the harness for continuity and ensure there are no 12V short circuits bridging the forward, neutral, and reverse signal wires.

   Component Testing (S171)

   Test the reverser lever outputs. According to the TR1 module pinout, the lever should output 12V on specific pins only when engaged in that specific direction. If it outputs 12V on multiple directional pins simultaneously, the lever is internally shorted.

   Module Testing

   If the lever and wiring are intact, connect the CLAAS diagnostic tool (60 05 033 249) to test the 'Auto 5' module's logic.

   Replacement

   Replace the reverser lever (S171) or the 'Auto 5' module, depending on which component failed the diagnostic tests.

   System Reset

   If an audio alarm was triggered by the fault, perform an 'ISC' (Interactive System Control) reset via the dashboard/terminal to clear the alarm state.
