CLAAS Id75FBh / 75FBh (360) – TR1 (A57-1): Paddle in forward gear (or reverse) and paddle up at the same time.
Issue description
This code indicates an inconsistent or contradictory electrical signal coming from the shuttle/reverser lever. The system is simultaneously receiving a command to move in a direction (Forward or Reverse) AND a command indicating the lever is in the "Up" (Neutral/Park) position.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- CLAAS Axion 800 Series (810, 850)
- CLAAS Arion 400 Series (410, 420, 430)
- CLAAS Arion 500 / 600 Series (510, 610, 630, 640)
- CLAAS Ares Series (657, 697 ATZ)
Check the cause
Perform a key-cycle system reset to see if the fault is hard or intermittent
Inspect the physical movement of the reverser lever (S171) to ensure it is not mechanically sticking between directional and neutral/up positions
Test the reverser lever (S171) electrical states to verify it is not outputting 12V on both the directional and neutral circuits simultaneously
Check the wiring harness linking the reverser lever to the TR1 (A57-1) module for short circuits to 12V, short circuits to ground, or open circuits (specifically pins 16, 19, 20, and 30)
Use the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) and Auto 5 diagnostic breakout tool (60 05 033 249) to read live inputs directly at the module
Repair steps
Clear and Verify
Clear the fault code. Move the reverser lever through all positions (Forward, Neutral/Up, Reverse) to see exactly which position triggers the code.
Isolate the Switch
Disconnect the harness at the reverser lever (S171). Use a multimeter to check for continuity across the switch's internal contacts. If the switch shows continuity for "Forward" and "Up" at the same time, the internal contacts have failed, and the lever must be replaced.
Inspect the Harness
If the switch tests fine, inspect the steering column wiring harness for chafing. Wires rubbing together can cause the 12V signal from the directional circuit to bleed into the neutral circuit. Repair any damaged wires.
Test the Auto 5 Module
If the switch and wiring are perfectly intact, the TR1 (A57-1) Auto 5 module may have an internal short or logic failure. Connect the breakout tool (60 05 033 249) to verify the module's inputs. If the module is misinterpreting correct signals, it must be replaced or sent out for specialized electronic repair.
Recalibrate
If the Auto 5 module is replaced, use the CLAAS Diagnostic System to flash the correct firmware and calibrate the transmission to the tractor.
