CLAAS Id7628h / 7628h (409) – TR2 (A57-2): Loss of the Hexactiv function engaged on the Powertrain CAN bus information, OR the Hexactiv function engaged information exceeds 10 seconds.

Issue description

When this fault is triggered, the Hexactiv auto-shift function becomes inactive, and the system requests an "ISC" reset. There is no audio warning associated with this code.

Applies to these machines

  • CLAAS Axion 800 Series
  • Axion 810
  • Axion 830
  • Axion 850
  • Axion 870
  • CLAAS Arion 500 Series
  • CLAAS Arion 600 Series
  • Arion 510
  • Arion 640

Check the cause

  1. Check the Hexactiv engaged function contact (S192) for proper operation, sticking, or electrical continuity

  2. Verify that the Armrest Module (A30 or A100) is functioning and communicating properly

  3. Inspect the Powertrain CAN bus network wiring harness for shorts, opens, or corrosion

  4. Check the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network for overall network integrity

  5. Verify the Bridge Module (A103) responsible for bridging CAN communications

Repair steps

  1. Inspect the Switch

Locate the Hexactiv engaged function contact (S192) on the armrest/console. Test the switch with a multimeter to ensure it is not stuck in the closed position (which would cause the 'exceeds 10 seconds' condition) and that it registers correctly when pressed. Replace the switch if it is mechanically or electrically faulty.

  2. Check Wiring and Connectors

Inspect the wiring harness connecting the S192 contact to the Armrest module (A30/A100). Look for pinched wires, chafing, or loose connector pins.

  3. Test CAN Bus Integrity

If the switch operates normally, test the Powertrain and Vehicle CAN bus lines between the Armrest module, the Bridge module (A103), and the TR2 module (A57-2). Ensure CAN High and CAN Low resistance values are within spec (typically 60 ohms across the network).

  4. Module Verification

If the wiring and switch are intact, the fault may lie within the Armrest module (A30/A100) failing to broadcast the signal, or the Bridge module (A103) failing to pass it to the TR2 module.

  5. Perform ISC Reset

Once the physical repair is made (or a stuck switch is freed), perform the requested 'ISC' reset via the tractor's diagnostic interface to clear the code and reactivate the Hexactiv function.
