CLAAS Id762Bh / 762Bh (412) – TR2 (A57-2): Steering right-hand mechanical stop position not validated when configuring the steering angle sensor (B117).

Issue description

The right-hand mechanical stop position for the steering was not validated during the calibration of the steering angle sensor. This may result in improper steering alignment or sensor calibration errors. The system requires the right-hand mechanical stop position to be validated to complete the calibration process.

Check the cause

  1. Check the wiring harness and connectors between the steering angle sensor (B117) and the TR2 (A57-2) module for continuity, short-circuits, or open circuits.

  2. Verify the voltage of the steering angle sensor. The valid operating threshold is typically between 0.5V and 4.5V.

  3. Ensure there is no mechanical seizing or obstruction preventing the wheels from turning fully to the right-hand stop.

Repair steps

  1. Return system to normal mode

Return the system to normal mode by pressing the differential lock button.

  2. Turn steering wheel to the right

Turn the steering wheel so the front wheels are fully to the right (resting against the right-hand mechanical stop).

  3. Validate position

Validate this position by pressing the differential locking button.

  4. Finish calibration

Do not forget to validate the right-hand steering mechanical stop position to finish the calibration.

  5. Replace steering angle sensor

If the error persists after attempting calibration, the B117 sensor is likely faulty and must be replaced, followed by a restart of the programming process.
