CLAAS Id763Ch / 763Ch (429) – TR2 (A57-2) / Auto 5: Problem saving parameters when placing units on standby

Occurs when the control unit fails to properly write and protect its specific parameters to the EEPROM memory during the shutdown/standby sequence.

   Check the 12V permanent supply for premature power loss prior to the standard 12V shutoff sequence after ignition is switched off

   Check battery voltage to ensure it is stable and not dropping below 7V during the shutdown/startup sequence

   Inspect wiring, connectors, and ground points linking the Auto 5 board to the battery to ensure the permanent power circuit is not interrupted prematurely

   Test the permanent 12V supply pin

   Test the permanent 12V supply pin on the TR2 (A57-2) Auto 5 module connector.

   Trace the wiring harness

   If power is being lost prematurely when the tractor is placed on standby, trace the wiring harness back to the battery/fuse panel to repair the open circuit or short.

   Check internal EEPROM

   If the 12V permanent supply is stable and functioning correctly, the internal EEPROM of the module has failed.

   Attempt to re-parameterize the Auto 5 module

   Attempt to re-parameterize the Auto 5 module using the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS / Win Metadiag©).

   Replace the Auto 5 module

   If the module will not accept or save the parameters, the 'Auto 5' module must be replaced. (Note: OEM documentation notes the use of CLAAS tool no. 60 05 033 249 for module replacement/programming).
