CLAAS Id7643h / 7643h (436) – TR2 (A57-2) Transmission Control Module: Inconsistent "Auto 5" analog readings.
Issue description
The transmission control module is receiving conflicting, erratic, or out-of-range analog voltage signals from the tractor's sensor harnesses. The system specifically flags potential short circuits crossing over between the accelerator/clutch sensors and the transmission range sensors.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- Arion 400 series (410, 430)
- Arion 500/600 series (510, 610, 630, 640)
- Axion 800 series (810, 850)
- Axion 900 series (920, 950)
- Axos
- Celtis
Check the cause
Check for a possible short circuit between the accelerator sensor harness and range sensors A and B (S1, S2).
Check for a possible short circuit between the clutch sensor harness and range sensors C and D (S3, S4).
Test the 'Auto 5' module directly using the official CLAAS diagnostic tool (Tool No. 60 05 033 249 / 60 0503 324 9).
Repair steps
Inspect Wiring
Locate the wiring harnesses for the accelerator pedal sensor, the clutch pedal sensor, and the transmission range sensors (A, B, C, D).
Test for Shorts
Use a multimeter to test for continuity/short circuits between the accelerator/clutch harnesses and the range sensor harnesses. Look for chafed wires, melted insulation, or moisture intrusion in the connectors.
Repair Wiring
If a short circuit is found, repair the damaged wiring harness or replace the affected sensor pigtail.
Test the Module
If the wiring is completely intact, connect the CLAAS diagnostic tool (Tool No. 60 05 033 249) to the Auto 5 module to test its inputs and outputs.
Replace Module
If the module fails the diagnostic test (often due to internal moisture damage or board failure), replace or rebuild the Auto 5 (TR2 A57-2) control unit.
Recalibrate
After replacing the Auto 5 module, you must use the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) to reprogram and recalibrate the transmission system.
