CLAAS Id7646h / 7646h (439) – TR2 (A57-2) Transmission Module: Actual current measured on the return of solenoid valve SV3 is too high relative to the setpoint

Issue description

The control module is detecting a higher electrical current than expected on the return circuit for the SV3 solenoid valve, which typically points to a short circuit to 12V in the harness, a failed solenoid coil, or an internal fault within the control module.

Applies to these machines

  • CLAAS Axion 800 series (e.g., 810, 850)
  • CLAAS Arion 600 series (e.g., 610, 630, 640)
  • CLAAS Arion 500 series (e.g., 510)
  • CLAAS Arion 400 series (e.g., 410, 420, 430)
  • CLAAS Ares 500 and 600 series (e.g., 567, 697)

Check the cause

  1. Check for a possible 12V short circuit on the solenoid valve power supply harness

  2. Check the condition and resistance of the solenoid valve SV3 (Component designation: Y335-3, which is the "Ratio under torque solenoid valve SV3")

  3. Check the "Auto 5" (TR2) module using CLAAS diagnostic tool n° 60 05 033 249

Repair steps

  1. Inspect the Wiring Harness

Locate the wiring harness running from the TR2 (A57-2) transmission module to the SV3 (Y335-3) solenoid valve. Visually inspect for chafing, melted insulation, or pinched wires. Use a multimeter to test for a short to 12V power on the return circuit. Repair or replace the harness if a short is found.

  2. Test the Solenoid Valve (Y335-3)

Disconnect the SV3 solenoid valve. Measure the internal resistance of the solenoid coil and check for an internal short to power or ground. If the solenoid fails the resistance test or is shorted, it must be replaced.

  3. Test the Control Module

If the wiring harness and the solenoid valve are both in good working order, the fault likely lies within the TR2 (A57-2) module itself. Connect the CLAAS diagnostic tool (part number 60 05 033 249) to test the "Auto 5" module's outputs.

  4. Replace the Module

If the diagnostic tool confirms the module is outputting or reading incorrect current values internally, replace the TR2 (A57-2) module.

Description: "Ratio under torque solenoid valve (SV3)". A specific 10-digit CLAAS part number for the valve itself is not listed in the standard fault code documentation, but it can be ordered through a dealer using the Y335-3 component designation for your specific transmission.

  • Transmission Control Module (TR2 (A57-2) / "Auto 5" Module)

  • CLAAS Diagnostic Tool
