Issue description

The transmission control system is commanding the SV1 solenoid valve (which controls the ratio under torque in the transmission) to open or close, but the electrical current returning to the module is lower than the expected target (setpoint). This typically indicates high resistance, an open circuit in the wiring harness, a short to ground, or a failed solenoid coil.

Check the cause

  1. Check for a possible open circuit in the solenoid valve supply harness

  2. Check for a possible short circuit to earth (ground) on the solenoid valve circuit

  3. Inspect and test the solenoid valve SV1 (Y335-1)

  4. Test the 'Auto 5' module using CLAAS diagnostic tool n° 60 05 033 249 to rule out an internal module failure

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

    Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the ignition.

  2. Locate the Valve

    Locate the transmission valve block (Hexashift module). Identify the SV1 'Ratio under torque' solenoid valve using the component identifier Y335-1.

  3. Inspect Wiring

    Disconnect the electrical connector at the SV1 solenoid. Inspect the pins for corrosion, pushed-out terminals, or moisture. Trace the wiring harness back to the TR2 (A57-2) module, looking for chafed wires or breaks.

  4. Test Continuity and Resistance

    Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the pins of the SV1 solenoid coil. If the circuit is open (infinite resistance) or shorted, the solenoid is defective. Test the harness wires for continuity between the TR2 module connector and the SV1 connector. Test both wires for a short to ground.

  5. Replace Faulty Component

    If the wiring is damaged, repair or replace the harness. If the SV1 solenoid fails the resistance test, replace the solenoid valve.

  6. Module Testing (If necessary)

    If the wiring and solenoid test perfectly, the fault may lie within the transmission module. Connect CLAAS tool n° 60 05 033 249 to test the 'Auto 5' module and replace it if required.

  7. Clear Codes

    Reconnect all components, turn on the ignition, clear the fault codes using a diagnostic scanner, and test the transmission operation to ensure the code does not return.
