Id7656h / 7656h (455)

CLAAS Id7656h / 7656h (455) – TR2 (A57-2): Calibration of the right position of the current steering angle.

Issue description

The system has lost or failed to validate the calibration value for the right-hand mechanical stop of the steering angle sensor (B117). This often happens if the sensor was replaced, the battery was disconnected, or the sensor signal dropped below a valid threshold during operation.

Applies to these machines

Check the cause

  1. Verify the voltage of the steering angle sensor (B117) is strictly between 0.5V and 4.5V (0V or 5V will block calibration)

  2. Check the wiring harness and connectors between the steering angle sensor (B117) on the front axle and the TR2 module for continuity, short-circuits to ground, or open circuits

  3. Ensure the sensor's mechanical linkage on the front axle is not bent, seized, or loose

Repair steps

  1. Start the tractor

Ensure the hydraulic steering system is fully functional.

  2. Enter calibration menu

Enter the normal operating mode or the steering calibration menu via the CLAAS Diagnostic System (CDS) / CEBIS terminal.

  3. Calibrate the Left Position

Turn the steering wheel fully to the left until it hits the mechanical stop. Validate this position by pressing the differential lock button.

  4. Calibrate the Center Position

Set the wheels perfectly straight (wheel-in-line position). Validate this position by pressing the differential lock button.

  5. Calibrate the Right Position

Turn the steering wheel fully to the right until it hits the mechanical stop. Validate this position by pressing the differential lock button to clear Id7656h.

  6. Restart the vehicle

Restart the vehicle to save the programming process.

  7. Replace sensor if calibration fails

If the calibration fails to save or the error persists immediately after validation, the B117 sensor has an internal dead spot and must be replaced.
