CLAAS Id7659h / 7659h (458) – TR2 (A57-2): Loss of Manoeuvering Gear Function Information or Short-Circuit
Issue description
Loss of the information on the “Manoeuvering gear” function engaged on the Powertrain CAN bus, OR the information on the “Manoeuvering gear” function engaged exceeds 10 seconds, OR there is a short-circuit. The manoeuvering gear function becomes inactive. This often presents as the tractor refusing to move forward or backward despite the reverser/shuttle showing a directional arrow on the dashboard.
Applies to these machines
2 machines- CLAAS Axion 800 Series (810, 820, 850)
- CLAAS Arion 500 and 600 Series (510, 520, 640)
Check the cause
Check the S177 manoeuvering gear (CSM) switch for sticking or physical jamming
Check the MFA Armrest module (A100 or A30)
Check the Powertrain and CLAAS vehicle CAN bus networks for communication errors
Check the BDG CAN network communication module (A103)
Test the Auto 5 transmission module using CLAAS diagnostic tool n° 60 05 033 249
Repair steps
Inspect the S177 Switch
Physically inspect the manoeuvering gear contact switch on the armrest. Ensure it is not physically jammed, sticking, or contaminated with dirt, which would cause it to send a continuous signal for more than 10 seconds.
Harness & Continuity Testing
Check the connectors and continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the S177 switch, the A100/A30 armrest module, and the A103 bridge module.
Circuit Testing
Test the wiring for any short-circuits to ground, short-circuits to 12V, or open circuits. Check the component's resistance if required by the test files.
Power Supply Check
Check the sources of energy (fuses, supply voltage, and ground connections) for the armrest and transmission modules.
Diagnostic Tool Testing
Connect CLAAS test tool n° 60 05 033 249 to verify the integrity of the "Auto 5" module and read live CAN bus data.
Software/Calibration
Check the compatibility of program versions, settings, and calibrations across the CAN bus.
Component Replacement
If wiring and software are intact, replace the faulty component (starting with the S177 switch, followed by the A100 armrest module or A103 bridge module).
