CLAAS Id7682h / 7682h (503) – TR3 / Auto 5: Short-circuit to 12V of the rear PTO solenoid valve

The system has detected that the electrical circuit controlling the rear Power Take-Off (PTO) clutch solenoid is improperly receiving 12 volts, likely due to a wiring short or an internal component failure. As a direct result of this fault, the system automatically disables the rear PTO (the PTO is forced "off") to prevent unintended engagement or damage.

   Check the solenoid valve power supply harness for a possible 12V short circuit (look for chafed wires touching a power source).

   Check the rear PTO clutch solenoid valve itself (identified in CLAAS schematics as component Y325) for internal shorting.

   Check the TR3 / "Auto 5" module using the official CLAAS diagnostic tool to rule out a faulty ECU.

   Secure machine

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and ensure the machine is safely secured.

   Locate solenoid valve

   Locate the rear PTO clutch solenoid valve (Component Y325) on the tractor's hydraulic control block.

   Disconnect connector

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the Y325 solenoid valve.

   Inspect and test wiring harness

   Using a multimeter, inspect the wiring harness running from the solenoid back to the TR3 (Auto 5) module. Test for continuity to a 12V power source to locate the short circuit. Repair or replace the wiring harness if damaged insulation or melted wires are found.

   Test solenoid valve

   Test the Y325 solenoid valve's internal resistance. If the solenoid is internally shorted, it must be replaced.

   Test control module

   If the wiring harness and the solenoid valve both test perfectly fine, the fault likely lies within the control module. Connect the CLAAS diagnostic tool to test the TR3 (Auto 5) module.

   Replace control module

   If the module is determined to be faulty, replace it.

   Clear codes and verify repair

   Clear the fault codes and test the rear PTO engagement to verify the repair.
