Issue description
The system detects an unexpected or excessive drop in engine RPM when the Power Take-Off (PTO) is engaged. As a safety and self-preservation measure, the system automatically turns the PTO off. This usually indicates that the engine is being bogged down by an excessive mechanical load, either from the tractor's internal PTO driveline or the attached implement.

Check the cause
Check for a possible problem with the tool/implement driven by the power take-off (e.g., seized bearings, blockages, or a load too heavy for the current engine RPM)
Check for a possible mechanical problem with the tractor's internal power take-off assembly (e.g., mechanical seizing, clutch drag, or binding)
Check the connectors and continuity of harnesses linking the PTO components to the TR3 (A57-3) module, looking for short-circuits or open circuits
Check the sources of energy (fuses, power supply, and ground)
Check the operating conditions and resistance of the rear PTO speed sensor (Component B142)
Repair steps
Isolate the Implement
Disconnect the PTO shaft from the attached implement. Start the tractor and engage the PTO without the implement attached. If the fault does not return, the issue is with the implement (seized gearbox, jammed rotors, etc.). Repair the implement. If the fault returns, the issue is internal to the tractor. Proceed to step 2.
Inspect the PTO Driveline
With the tractor off, manually inspect the PTO stub shaft for smooth rotation (if applicable) and check for any obvious signs of mechanical binding or catastrophic clutch failure.
Test the PTO Speed Sensor (B142)
Locate the rear PTO speed sensor. Inspect the wiring harness for chafing or breaks. Use a multimeter to verify the sensor's resistance and ensure it is receiving proper voltage from the TR3 module. Clean the sensor tip, as metallic debris can cause erratic speed readings.
Check TR3 Module Connections
Inspect the 32-pin and 48-pin connectors on the TR3 (A57-3) transmission module for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture.
Replace Faulty Components
If the sensor tests out of specification, replace the PTO speed sensor. If the sensor and wiring are good but the engine physically bogs down with no implement attached, the internal PTO clutch pack or driveline must be disassembled and repaired.
Clear Codes and Calibrate
After repairs, clear the fault codes from the WLP control panel and perform any required PTO calibrations.
