CLAAS Id7686h / 7686h (507) – TR3 (A57-3): Battery fault out of range (10 volts – 16 volts)

Issue description

The system has detected the battery voltage falling outside of the acceptable operating parameters (below 10V or above 16V), which causes the PTO (Power Take-Off) to automatically turn off.

Applies to these machines

  • CLAAS Arion series (640-510)
  • CLAAS Axion series (800, 850, 920, 950)

Check the cause

  1. Test the physical battery to ensure it is holding a proper charge and that the alternator is not overcharging or undercharging the system (must be between 10V and 16V).

  2. Check the connectors and continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the TR3 module and the battery.

  3. Inspect the circuit for any short-circuits or open circuits.

  4. Verify all sources of energy, including fuses, main power supply lines, and ground connections.

  5. Test the 'Auto 5' module using the specific CLAAS diagnostic tool (Tool No. 60 05 033 249).

Repair steps

  1. Verify Voltage

Measure the voltage at the battery terminals with the machine off and running. If the voltage is below 10V, charge or replace the battery. If it is above 16V, inspect the alternator/voltage regulator for overcharging.

  2. Inspect Wiring

Trace the power and ground wiring to the TR3 (A57-3) module. Repair any damaged wires, clean corroded ground terminals, and replace blown fuses.

  3. Test the Module

Connect CLAAS diagnostic tool n° 60 05 033 249 to evaluate the 'Auto 5' module.

  4. Replace Components

If the battery and wiring are in good condition but the 'Auto 5' module fails the diagnostic test, change the module.

  5. Clear Codes

Clear all error codes from the system, then test-drive the tractor to ensure the anomaly does not reappear and the PTO functions normally.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • Battery

Generic 12V agricultural battery (Fitment depends on the specific Arion/Axion model; verify CCA and group size requirements for the exact tractor).

  • "Auto 5" Module

Primary module evaluated via tool 60 05 033 249 for this specific fault.

  • Fuses / Wiring Harness

Generic electrical repair components as needed if shorts/opens are found.
