CLAAS Id768Eh / 768Eh (515) – TR3 (A57-3) transmission module: Confirmation of the automatic power take-off setting (PTO)

   Check the CAN Bus: Verify communication on the Powertrain CAN bus network.

   Check Sensors: Inspect the rear PTO speed sensor (Component B142) and the engine speed sensor (Component B228-1).

   Check the Switch: Verify the inputs from the rear power take-off cab command switch (Component S114).

   Harness & Connectors: Check the connectors and continuity of the harnesses linking the TR3 module to the PTO components. Look for short-circuits or open circuits.

   Verify the Code

   Connect the CLAAS diagnostic system to read the fault memory. Confirm if Id768Eh (515) is active or stored, and check for accompanying TR3 codes.

   Inspect the TR3 Module

   Locate the TR3 (A57-3) module behind the driver's seat. Ensure the 42-pin connector is seated securely and free of corrosion.

   Test the PTO Switch

   Test the S114 PTO switch for proper 12V output when actuated.

   Test the Sensors

   Measure the resistance and output signals of the B142 (PTO speed) and B228-1 (Engine speed) sensors.

   Module Diagnostics

   If wiring and sensors are intact but the automatic PTO fails to operate, test the "Auto 5" (TR3) module using CLAAS special tool n° 60 05 033 249.

   Clear and Retest

   Clear the fault codes, cycle the tractor's ignition, and engage the automatic PTO to see if the system operates normally and if the code returns as a hard fault.
