CLAAS Id7691h / 7691h (518) – TR3 (A57-3) / Auto 5: Open circuit on the automatic hand brake disengaging solenoid valve

The transmission control system has detected a break in the electrical circuit (open circuit) leading to the solenoid valve responsible for releasing the automatic hand brake, preventing the tractor from disengaging the automatic hand brake electronically.

   Inspect the solenoid valve supply harness for a possible open circuit, broken wires, or disconnected/corroded pins.

   Measure the electrical resistance of the solenoid valve winding (Y324 or Y319) to verify if the coil inside the solenoid has failed (open circuit).

   Test the Auto 5 control module using CLAAS diagnostic tool n° 60 05 033 249 to ensure the ECU itself is sending the correct signals and hasn't failed internally.

   Emergency Release (Workaround)

   If the tractor is immobilized in the field, locate and use the manual release screw on the brake mechanism to mechanically disengage the automatic hand brake so the tractor can be moved.

   Inspect Wiring

   Trace the wiring harness from the TR3 (A57-3) module to the Y324 solenoid valve. Repair any broken wires or replace damaged connector plugs.

   Replace Solenoid

   If the wiring is intact but the multimeter shows infinite resistance (open circuit) across the Y324 solenoid pins, the solenoid coil is dead. Depressurize the hydraulic circuit, remove the retaining nut/coil, and replace the solenoid valve.

   Replace Module

   If both the wiring and the solenoid test perfectly, but the fault persists, the 'Auto 5' module is likely faulty. Verify this with tool n° 60 05 033 249 and replace the module if required.

   Clear Codes

   Use the CLAAS METADIAG diagnostic tool or the CEBIS panel to clear the inactive fault codes and test the hand brake engagement/disengagement.
