CLAAS Id7692h / 7692h (519) – TR3 (A57-3) / Auto 5 Transmission Control Module: Short-circuit to ground of the automatic hand brake disengaging solenoid valve
Issue description
This fault indicates that the electrical circuit controlling the automatic hand brake release solenoid has shorted to ground. As a result, the system cannot disengage the automatic hand brake, leaving the machine immobilized.
Applies to these machines
7 machines- CLAAS Axion 800 Series
- Axion 810
- Axion 840
- Axion 850
- CLAAS Arion 500 / 600 Series
- Arion 510
- Arion 640
Check the cause
Check for a possible open circuit or short circuit to ground in the power supply harness leading to the automatic hand brake disengaging solenoid valve (Component designation: Y324).
Check the connectors and the continuity of the harnesses linking the TR3 module to the Y324 solenoid.
Measure the resistance of the Y324 solenoid valve winding to verify if the solenoid itself is internally shorted to ground.
Check the sources of energy (fuses, supply voltage, and ground connections).
Check the "Auto 5" module using the CLAAS diagnostic breakout tool (Tool n° 60 05 033 249) to rule out an internal failure of the ECU.
Repair steps
Manual Override
Because the fault prevents the automatic hand brake from disengaging electronically, use the manual release screw on the transmission to mechanically disengage the automatic hand brake so the tractor can be moved into a workshop.
Wiring Repair
If the diagnostic checks reveal chafed, broken, or melted wires in the Y324 harness causing a short to ground, repair or replace the affected wiring section.
Solenoid Replacement
If the wiring is intact but the Y324 solenoid valve fails the resistance test (internal short to ground), evacuate the necessary hydraulic pressure, remove the faulty solenoid, and install a new one.
ECU Replacement
If the wiring and solenoid are both in good working order, and testing with tool 60 05 033 249 confirms the Auto 5 module is not sending the correct signals or is internally shorted, replace the Auto 5 module.
Clear Codes
Reconnect all components, clear the fault codes from the TR3 module, and test the automatic hand brake engagement/disengagement to verify the repair.
