CLAAS Id76B1h / 76B1h (728) – REH (A58): Error on the rear lifting mode selector

Issue description

Error on the rear lifting mode selector. When this fault is triggered, the rear lifting function is blocked from the in-cab controls. However, the external lifting controls located on the rear fenders can still be used.

Applies to these machines

  • CLAAS Axion 850–810
  • CLAAS Axion 950–920
  • CLAAS Arion 640–510
  • CLAAS Arion 430–410

Check the cause

  1. Restart the tractor to see if the module resets and clears the fault

  2. Test the external fender controls (S181 / S182) to verify the issue is isolated to the in-cab mode selector

  3. Inspect connectors and harness continuity linking the rear lifting mode selector, the MFA (A100) armrest multifunction module, and the REH (A58) lifting module

  4. Check for any short-circuits or open circuits in the wiring

  5. Check the sources of energy (fuses, 12V supply, and ground) to the REH (A58) and MFA (A100) modules

  6. Check the component's resistance and adjustment values (potentiometer/switch voltages)

Repair steps

  1. Document Codes

Note all error codes present on the tractor (e.g., via the CEBIS terminal) to see if the mode selector fault is generating secondary codes.

  2. Access the Armrest/Console

Gain access to the MFA (A100) armrest multifunction module where the rear lifting mode selector is located.

  3. Perform Harness Measurements

Using a multimeter, test the wiring harness between the mode selector switch/potentiometer and the REH (A58) module (located under the right-hand console).

  4. Replace Faulty Component

If the wiring and power supplies are intact but the selector signal remains invalid, replace the rear lifting mode selector switch/potentiometer.

  5. Clear and Retest

Clear all error codes from the system memory, restart the tractor, and test the rear lifting system to ensure the anomaly does not reappear.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • Rear Lifting Mode Selector (Switch/Potentiometer)

Generic OEM replacement part located on the MFA (A100) armrest.

  • MFA (A100) Armrest Multifunction Module

If the internal circuitry of the armrest processing the switch signal has failed.

  • REH (A58) Rear Lifting Module

    A58

    Located under the right-hand console.
