CLAAS Id76BCh / 76BCh (739) – REH (A58) lifting module: Lifting Up Mode Selection Information Missing or Erroneous
Issue description
The REH (A58) lifting module is not receiving the 'lifting up mode selection' information, or the information being broadcast over the Powertrain CAN bus is in error. As a safety and operational precaution, the lifting up mode becomes inactive.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- CLAAS Arion 640 - 510
- CLAAS Arion 430 - 410
- CLAAS Axion 850 - 810
Check the cause
Check the Powertrain CAN bus network
Check the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus network
Check the actual forward speed sensor (radar) (B230)
Check the lifting module REH (A58)
Repair steps
Harness and Connector Inspection
Begin by checking the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the REH (A58) module, the B230 radar sensor, and the CAN bus networks.
CAN Bus Network Testing
Test both the Powertrain CAN bus and the CLAAS vehicle CAN bus for shorts to ground, open circuits, or excessive frame errors that could be interrupting the lifting up mode selection signal.
Radar Sensor Verification
Inspect the actual forward speed sensor (radar) (B230). Ensure it is properly connected, as a loss of theoretical/actual speed data on the CAN bus can trigger related REH module lockouts.
Module Testing
Test the REH (A58) 'Auto 5' module directly. CLAAS specifies using the 'Auto 5' control unit diagnostic tool (Tool No. 60 05 033 249 / 60 0503 324 9) along with the 'Auto 5' input/output control harness (Tool No. 60 0503 325 0) to verify the module's internal electronics.
Replacement
If the wiring is intact, the CAN bus is communicating properly, and the REH (A58) module fails the diagnostic tool test, replace the REH (A58) lifting module.
