Issue description

The system has detected that the right load sensor (draft sensor) is experiencing an overload condition. As a system response, the right load sensor is ignored by the control unit, and load control functions may operate in a degraded mode.

Check the cause

  1. Perform a mechanical inspection for prestress on the rear linkage, such as non-compliant implements causing physical binding or excessive force on the sensor pin.

  2. Inspect the connectors and test the continuity of the wiring harness linking the right load sensor (Component B144-2) to the REH (A58) lifting module.

  3. Check for short-circuits or open circuits in the sensor wiring, and verify sources of energy (fuses, supply voltage, and ground) at the sensor connector.

  4. Check the component's resistance and voltage output to verify it is within specification.

  5. Verify the condition and connections at the lifting module REH (A58).

  6. Check the compatibility of program versions and settings, ensuring the lifting system calibration is correct.

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

    Lower the rear linkage to the ground and safely detach any implements to remove all mechanical stress from the lower link arms.

  2. Inspect the Linkage

    Ensure the lower right link arm moves freely and is not seized, bent, or mechanically binding against the sensor pin.

  3. Test the Circuit

    Disconnect the right load sensor (B144-2). Using a multimeter, verify that the sensor is receiving the correct reference voltage (usually 5V or 10V depending on the specific module pinout) and ground from the A58 module.

  4. Test the Sensor

    Measure the signal output of the sensor while applying a known physical load. If the sensor reads out of bounds (overload) even when no physical load is applied, the internal strain gauge has failed.

  5. Replace the Sensor

    If the sensor is internally shorted or permanently reading an overload state, remove the retaining hardware and slide the draft sensor pin out of the lower link bracket. Install the new sensor pin.

  6. Recalibrate

    After replacing the sensor, use the CLAAS METADIAG tool or the Cebis terminal (if applicable) to clear the fault codes and perform a rear lifting calibration procedure so the REH module learns the new sensor's zero-point.
