Id76D9h / 76D9h (622)

CLAAS Id76D9h / 76D9h (622) – SFA (A102): Short-circuit on the supply of down On/Off solenoid valve (solenoid valve 2).

Issue description

This indicates an electrical short-circuit in the power supply line to the solenoid valve responsible for lowering the front axle suspension. When this code is triggered, the system response is a safety lockout: the suspension becomes non-functional and is locked in its current position.

Applies to these machines

  • CLAAS Axion 800 Series (e.g., Axion 810, 820, 830, 840, 850)
  • CLAAS Arion 500 / 600 Series (e.g., Arion 510–640)

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the electrical connectors at the Y322 solenoid and the SFA (A102) module for corrosion, pushed pins, or water ingress.

  2. Test the wiring harness linking the SFA module to the Y322 solenoid for continuity and check the supply wire for a short-circuit to ground or another voltage source.

  3. Measure the internal resistance of the Y322 solenoid coil with a multimeter to verify it is not internally shorted.

  4. Check the energy sources, including relevant suspension system fuses, module supply voltage, and ground connections.

  5. Verify the component's operating conditions to ensure the valve cartridge is not mechanically seized inside the valve block.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Relieve Pressure

Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the front axle suspension system before working near the valve block.

  3. Locate the Valve

Locate the front suspension valve block (usually mounted near the front axle or right-hand side of the chassis) and identify Down solenoid valve 2 (Y322).

  4. Wiring Repair (If Applicable)

If the diagnostic checks revealed a chafed or shorted wire in the harness, repair the damaged section using weather-sealed heat shrink connectors.

  5. Solenoid Replacement

If the solenoid coil failed the resistance test (internal short): Disconnect the electrical plug from the Y322 coil. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem. Slide the faulty electromagnetic coil off the valve cartridge. (Note: If the valve cartridge itself is seized, unthread the cartridge from the block and replace the entire valve assembly). Slide the new coil onto the stem and torque the retaining nut to OEM spec.

  6. Reassembly & Testing

Reconnect the electrical plug, reconnect the battery, and start the tractor. Clear the stored fault codes using the CLAAS diagnostic tool (or onboard CIS/CEBIS terminal if applicable) and test the front axle suspension to ensure it raises and lowers correctly.
