CLAAS Id76DAh / 76DAh (623) – SFA (A102): Short-circuit on the supply of the transfer proportional solenoid valve (Y331)
Issue description
The suspended front axle becomes non-functional and locks in its current position. The system will also prompt the operator to "Drive slow".
Applies to these machines
4 machines- CLAAS Arion 640-510
- CLAAS Axion 800 series
- CLAAS Axion 850
- CLAAS Axion 950-920
Check the cause
Check the connectors and the continuity of the harnesses linking the SFA (A102) module to the Y331 solenoid valve
Check specifically for any short-circuits or open circuits in the wiring
Check the sources of energy, including fuses, power supply voltage at the connector, and ground integrity
Measure the internal electrical resistance of the Y331 solenoid coil to determine if the short is internal to the component
Check the component's physical operating conditions (e.g., hydraulic pressure, temperature, or mechanical seizing of the valve spool)
Repair steps
Locate the Valve
Locate the front axle suspension valve block and identify Transfer solenoid valve 3 (Y331).
Inspect Wiring
Disconnect the harness from the Y331 solenoid. Inspect the pins for corrosion, pushed-out terminals, or moisture.
Test the Solenoid
Using a multimeter, test the resistance across the pins of the Y331 solenoid coil. If the resistance is out of specification (indicating an internal short-circuit), the solenoid coil or the entire valve assembly must be replaced.
Test the Harness
With the solenoid disconnected, turn the ignition on and check the supply voltage on the harness side. Trace the wiring back to the SFA (A102) module to repair any rubbed or melted wires causing a short to ground or power.
Replace Component
If the wiring is intact and the short is isolated to the valve itself, replace the Y331 transfer proportional solenoid valve.
Clear and Verify
Reconnect all components, clear the fault codes from the system, and test the front suspension operation to ensure it is no longer locked in its current position.
Parts you might need
(1)Transfer proportional solenoid valve (Y331) / Transfer solenoid valve 3
Ensure the replacement solenoid matches the proportional specifications (rather than a standard On/Off solenoid, such as Y321 or Y322, which are also on the same block).
