CLAAS Id76DCh / 76DCh (625) – SFA (A102): Short-circuit on the supply of the cumulator proportional solenoid valve (solenoid valve 4)

Issue description

The control module has detected a short circuit on the electrical supply line feeding the proportional solenoid valve that controls the suspension accumulator (cumulator). When this fault is active, the system defaults to a degraded safety mode, resulting in a non-functional suspension that is locked in its current position.

Check the cause

  1. Check the connectors at the Y332 solenoid and the continuity of the wiring harness linking it back to the SFA (A102) module.

  2. Inspect the harness specifically for a short-circuit to ground or a short to another power wire on the supply side.

  3. Measure the internal resistance of the Y332 solenoid coil with a multimeter to verify if the coil itself has internally shorted.

  4. Check the sources of energy, including fuses, main supply voltage, and ground connections to the SFA module.

  5. Ensure there is no mechanical seizing of the valve spool and check the hydraulic operating conditions (pressure/temperature).

Repair steps

  1. Safety Prep

Park the tractor on a level surface. Because you are working on the suspension hydraulics, safely support the front axle to prevent it from dropping when hydraulic pressure is relieved. Turn off the engine and disconnect the battery.

  2. Locate the Valve Block

Locate the front axle suspension control valve block (typically mounted near the front axle assembly).

  3. Identify Component Y332

Locate the specific solenoid valve designated as Y332 (Cumulator proportional solenoid valve 4 / Suspension stiffness adjustment solenoid) on the valve block.

  4. Inspect the Connection

Disconnect the electrical plug to Y332. Look for melted plastic, water ingress, or corroded pins that could cause a short.

  5. Replace the Solenoid/Valve

If the wiring harness tests fine but the coil is shorted, remove the retaining nut holding the solenoid coil and slide it off the valve cartridge. If the cartridge is seized, unscrew the cartridge from the block (have a catch pan ready for hydraulic fluid).

  6. Reassembly

Install the new Y332 solenoid coil/valve, torque to OEM specifications, and reconnect the electrical harness.

  7. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and use the CLAAS METADIAG diagnostic tool (or the CEBIS panel) to clear the fault codes. Test the suspension to ensure it moves freely and is no longer locked.
