CLAAS Id76DFh / 76DFh (628) – SFA (A102): Open circuit on the transfer solenoid valve (3 solenoid valve)
Issue description
The front suspension becomes non-functional and is locked in its current position.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- CLAAS Arion 640–510 series
- CLAAS Axion 850
- CLAAS Axion 950–920 series
Check the cause
Check the connectors and the continuity of the wiring harnesses linking the SFA (A102) module to the Y331 solenoid valve.
Test the wiring for any short-circuits or open circuits between the module and the valve.
Check the sources of energy (fuses, power supply voltage, and ground connections).
Measure the internal electrical resistance of the Y331 solenoid valve to see if the coil is internally open.
Check the component's mechanical operating conditions (e.g., check for mechanical seizing, pressure issues, or temperature anomalies).
Repair steps
Safety First
Park the tractor on a level surface, lower any implements, turn off the engine, and remove the key. Since the suspension is locked, ensure the front axle is safely supported if you need to work underneath.
Locate Component Y331
Locate the Transfer solenoid valve 3 (Y331) on the front axle suspension valve block.
Inspect Wiring
Disconnect the electrical connector at the Y331 solenoid. Inspect the pins for corrosion, pushed-out terminals, or moisture.
Test the Solenoid
Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the pins of the solenoid valve. If the reading shows an open circuit (infinite resistance / OL), the solenoid coil has failed.
Test the Harness
If the solenoid tests good, turn the key to the ON position and check for proper reference voltage and ground at the connector. If voltage is missing, trace the wiring back to the SFA (A102) module to repair the break in the wire.
Replace the Valve
If the solenoid coil is internally open or mechanically seized, relieve hydraulic pressure from the suspension system, unthread the faulty Y331 solenoid valve, and install the replacement.
Clear Codes & Calibrate
Reconnect the harness, clear the fault codes via the Cebis terminal or diagnostic tool, and test the suspension to ensure it unlocks and functions normally.
