CLAAS Id76E3h / 76E3h (632) – SFA (A102): Short-circuit to ground of the supply On/Off solenoid valve (solenoid valve 1)
Issue description
The suspended front axle becomes non-functional and the suspension is locked in its current position.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- CLAAS Axion 850–810 series
- CLAAS Axion 950–920 series
- CLAAS Arion 640–510 series
Check the cause
Check the connectors and the continuity of the harnesses linking the Y321 solenoid valve to the SFA module
Check specifically for short-circuits to ground or open circuits in the wiring harness
Check the sources of energy, including fuses, power supply, and ground connections
Measure the internal resistance of the Y321 solenoid valve to determine if the short is internal to the coil
Check the component's operating conditions (e.g., pressure, temperature, or mechanical seizing of the valve)
Repair steps
Locate the solenoid valve
Locate the Y321 Supply solenoid valve on the suspended front axle valve block.
Disconnect the connector
Disconnect the electrical connector to the Y321 solenoid.
Inspect the connector pins
Inspect the connector pins for corrosion, damage, or bridging that could cause a short to ground.
Test the wiring harness
Using a multimeter, test the wiring harness from the SFA (A102) module to the Y321 connector for a short to ground. Repair the wiring harness if a chafe or short is found.
Test the solenoid resistance
Test the resistance across the pins of the Y321 solenoid valve itself. If the resistance is out of specification (indicating an internal short to ground), the solenoid valve must be replaced.
Clear fault codes
After repairing the wiring or replacing the valve, clear the fault codes.
Check compatibility and calibrate
Check, if required, the compatibility of program versions, settings, and perform any necessary suspension calibrations.
